This route is great if your schedule permits a shorter tasting time or you want to stay close to the downtown scene with shops and restaurants. Yakima Valley Tasting Route 2

Grapes, grapes, grapes! This route has plenty of vineyards for you to experience real wine country. You will find a variety of wines with delicious whites as well as both smooth and complex reds. If you are a red lover, this route will not disappoint. Nearly all wineries on this route welcome families and pets. Groups over 15 are recommended to call wineries an hour or two ahead. Often with this call the winemaker can tour you through the vineyards. Have your coffee and breakfast in Yakima before you head out. This is a great route to pack a picnic or bring along some cheese and crackers to snack on along the way. This route is doable in a full day but plan to hit your first winery at opening (usually 10:00a.m.) and then be out until close (5 or 6p.m.). Travel back to Yakima for dinner. Most restaurants can seat you easily without reservations (unless you have a larger group).
